Explore wild and creative art installations inspired by coffee swizzle sticks during First Night Springfield downtown New Year’s Eve celebration of the Arts.

Outside walk through a 40′ long tunnel woven from sticks and watch giant projections transform silos into a giant moving gallery wall of animated stick connections by artist Russ RuBert. Inside walk through Art Of Space igloo-like installation made from thousands of wood slats. Make spacey sounds and paint a neon glow using RuBert’s Sonic Paintbrush that controls a 23′ wall of neon art.

Boonville-yarnbombCheck out the yarn bombing on Boonville street light poles. Try your hand at building with sticks as you enjoy a cup of hot coffee!

Other great downtown venues include our neighbors at LemonDrop featuring live music, French food and Opera at Arts & Letters, poetry and magic at Park Central Library, music and comedy at the Gillioz and Fox Theaters. Also included in the ticket price – two free hours at the Discovery Center, 5 free hours at 1984 Video Arcade, and 3 hours free skating at the Ice Park!

Wrap the evening and ring in the New Year with real Fireworks in Jordan Valley Park at midnight!

Get your tickets discounted in advance at the Creamery Arts Center, all Library locations, Urban District Alliance, or Kum & Go stores. In advance individual tickets are $8 or a family pack of four for $30. You can buy tickets at the door of any venue for $10 individual, $35 for a family of four.
