We have partnered with the Urban Districts Alliance, LemonDrop and The Community Partnership for this great event! Join us in ideaXfactory’s grassy lot for live art!

This month’s FTBD (Friday to be Downtown) summer event series on September 6 from 6 to 9 pm will be on ideaXfactory’s grassy lot  at the corner of Boonville and Water Street.  Scott Sauer and Mr. K will be painting live on 4×8 panels. There will be two open panels serving as free walls for public participation. Come paint with us!

The Community Partnership of the Ozarks will provide free food and snacks. The event is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.

The ideaXfactory is a contemporary art space exhibiting site-specific work.  It is a place to explore construction and deconstruction of space and the regeneration of the urban landscape through creativity, interaction, and problem solving.

Inside the ideaXfactory, Cathy Russell will be working on an experimental studio installation using recycled aluminum cans to create a giant tree.

FTBD is a collaboration of several non-profit groups that began meeting last fall to look for ways to offer more activities and supplement the arts-related events that are planned for Park Central Square on First Fridays.

Participating organizations in FTBD include the Community Partnership, First Baptist Church of Springfield, Ozarks Regional YMCA, Rare Breed, Springfield-Greene County Park Board, Springfield Regional Arts Council, Amberg Events, and the Urban Districts Alliance.
